Safety, Safety, Safety

Here at Sister Act Face Painting we feel very strongly about using the safest paints and practices that are available in our industry. We use Snazaroo paints exclusively; they are the only face paints on the market with an FDA cosmetic/child/toy safety rating. Snazaroo statistics show about 1 in 10,000,000 will have an allergic reaction to their product. I personally have never seen anyone have a reaction in the many, many years I have used these paints. I feel strongly that we are using the best paint on the market.

When hiring any artist, or letting you child be painted, please ask what paints they are using. If the artist cannot tell you or says they are using craft paints, RUN! I have seen so many good artist using bad paints. Craft paints, Crayola makers, Sharpies, Ceramicoats and acrylics to name a few. None of these are to be used on the skin. The skin is the largest organ on the body and can absorb the ingredients from these paints quickly, causing an extreme allergic reaction. If the artist can’t tell you what they are using please don’t take a chance with you child.

All glitters used should also be cosmetic; this means they are soft, and made with polyester. They are cut with rounded edges (unlike craft glitter that is square and pointed) this way if it does find its way into your child eye it will irritate, but not cut or cause serious damage.

At Sister Act our policy is to always use fresh water, never paint anyone with an obvious sore or cold and always clean and sanitize all brushes, sponges and equipment after every event. We’re kind of nuts when it comes to safety but we love to play with the kids and want this experience to not only be fun and thrilling but safe as well.

Happy Painting
MJ and Kimberly
